Ministries

There are many ministries available through St John the Baptist parish. Volunteers donate their time and talent to serve our parish congregation and surrounding community.
Bereavement

The members of the Bereavement Ministry, as a part of the Faith Community of St. John the Baptist Church, gather together with the family and friends of a deceased Christian to share in their grieving process as they remember and celebrate the life of the deceased in the context of prayer and Christ’s love.

In the event of a loss of a loved one, call the Parish Office to make arrangements.

A member of the Bereavement Ministry will contact you shortly thereafter, to assist in planning all aspects of the funeral rites. You can contact the Parish Office at 518-758-9401.

Mass Ministers

Members of the parish volunteer to be lectors, Eucharist ministers, greeters, cantors, ushers and altar servers. They are scheduled to minister at a weekend service, according to their availability. It is a great way to donate your talent and meet other active people in the parish. Please contact the Parish Office if you are interested.

Service Committees

There are many committees that service the parish congregation and the larger community.

There is an active Knights of Columbus group which runs benefits and helps the parish.

The St John's Elves are a group of women who sew and create crafts for holiday boutiques to raise funds for the parish.

Seniors can enjoy a wonderful luncheon twice a year prepared by volunteer cooks and servers.

There is a gardening committee that volunteers between April and September, hours are flexible. If you are interested in helping out, contact the office for information.
