Parish Services

Reconciliation Services

Reconciliation Services are scheduled periodically at each parish. St John the Baptist holds Reconciliation at 3 PM on Saturdays. For an appointment with the Pastor, please call St. James at 518-392-4991.

Baptisms

Baptisms are celebrated at St. John the Baptist the third Sunday of each month after Masses at 11:30 AM  or during Mass.  Please contact the parish office at 758-9401 to schedule. Last opportunity before Lent to have your child baptized is Sunday, January 21, 2018, and the first opportunity after Easter is Sunday, April 15, 2018.

For adults wishing to be baptized, there is the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), which culminates each year with the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.

Weddings

Please work with your parish office to schedule a priest or deacon for weddings at least six months before your proposed wedding date.

Funerals

Families are encouraged to plan funeral Masses and memorial services on a weekday, rather than Saturday. Please work with your parish office to schedule a priest or deacon for services and burials. St John the Baptist has an active Bereavement Ministry to help the family of the deceased with Mass preparations.

Nursing Home Masses

A priest will celebrate Mass and anoint people at least once each month.  The usual schedule at Barnwell is 10:30 AM on the 3rd Wednesday and at Whittier on the 4th Tuesday at 10:00 AM.

Weekly Offertory Donations

If you wish your donation to the weekly offertory to go to the parish in which you are registered, and to ensure your donations are included in your year-end statement, please sign up for your parish offertory envelopes.

No matter where you attend Mass, parish envelopes placed in the collection basket at any of the cluster parish locations will get to the church named on the envelope. This is also true for loose checks payable to any one church, and even plain donation envelopes that have your name and church name on the outside.
