Sidewalk Warriors

Sidewalk Warriors relies on our generosity and you continue to respond!  

Please continue your good work during the cold winter months with family-sized boxes of cereal, boxes of oatmeal packets, pop tarts, canned soup and vegetables, as well as crackers. New to the wish list this month is hot cocoa packets. All donations can be dropped off at the CCNCC offices at 1025 Kinderhook Street in Valatie. We will continue to support this grassroots organization throughout the year.

 

Bethlehem Tree at St. John the Baptist

Thank you to the many people who contributed to the annual Bethlehem Tree.  This year we helped more than 14 families and 34 children to have a joy-filled Christmas.  For over 35 years the generosity of our parishioners has made the phrase “Merry Christmas” a source of joy for hundreds of families aided by the Bethlehem Tree.  We thank you, too, for your continued willingness to feed the hungry and clothe the poor year-round.  Your kindness and concern for others is awesome!   

 

Advent and Christmas Decorations at St. John the Baptist

Decorating our Church for Advent and Christmas is a huge undertaking. We often forget that dismantling the decorations is a big job, too! Thank you to all of our volunteers, led by our environmental coordinator, Stephanie Caradine-Ruchel.

​The Valatie Ecumenical Food Pantry needs your help.

We serve more than 200 families in the Ichabod Crane School District. Our dedicated volunteers could use your help in working on food distribution days, helping out with food pickup at local and regional locations (strong back required), helping with sorting and stocking on special food collection events, and helping with our special Thanksgiving and Easter food basket distributions. Our volunteers may commit to just a few hours a month or, if you choose, a bit more. We just need some of your time and a good and helpful attitude toward our neighbors here in Northern Columbia County. Please contact Carol Kelley at 518-784-2593.
